TVK election campaign management general secretary Aadhav Arjuna on Monday said his party would not enter into an alliance with any party, “even if the Chief Minister’s post is offered”. He was speaking at a public meeting held in Perambur, Chennai.
In his address, Aadhav alleged that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin fears actor-politician Vijay, and claimed that this fear led to Senthil Balaji being “sent” against him. He further said blame was attempted to be placed on TVK, but that the CBI probe has now “turned back” towards those who made the allegations.
With the Model Code of Conduct now in force, he said campaigning can be carried out anywhere, and asserted that TVK candidates are not chosen or elected through money power.
Aadhav also spoke about actor Rajinikanth, calling him “always dear” to them, and said a person from Rajinikanth’s forum has been given a platform and responsibility in TVK. He claimed alliance negotiations were attempted with offers including CM, Deputy CM and “50 seats”, but said Vijay rejected them, reiterating that TVK will contest all 234 constituencies on its own.
Referring to his earlier remarks, he said if Rajinikanth was hurt by his comments, he apologised. He again underlined that TVK would not join any alliance under any circumstances.
