Actor-politician Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has reportedly cancelled a planned media interaction by its election campaign management general secretary Aadhav Arjuna, amid a growing controversy involving actor Rajinikanth.

The issue began after TVK held statewide protests on March 12 against the DMK government. Speaking at the Chennai protest, Aadhav alleged that the DMK had threatened Rajinikanth and prevented him from entering politics, and claimed that only Vijay had the courage to step into politics. The remarks drew criticism from leaders of various political parties, who also urged Vijay to take action against Aadhav.

Rajinikanth later issued a statement, saying, “Time does not speak, but it waits and answers.” Following this, Aadhav reportedly wanted to offer an explanation and had planned to meet reporters at TVK’s office in Panaiyur, Chennai, at 1.30 pm on Monday. The briefing was cancelled at the last moment.

According to TVK sources, intense online clashes between Rajinikanth and Vijay fans were already underway. As the matter began taking a political turn, Aadhav’s move to clarify was seen as potentially escalating the situation, and the press meet was reportedly called off after Vijay was informed.

Meanwhile, social media debate has intensified over what prompted Rajinikanth’s sudden statement, with one side attributing it to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s role and another claiming Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s provocation was behind it.
