Tamil Nadu has emerged as India’s top state in textile exports, shipping textiles worth $7,997 million in 2024-25, according to a report based on the Union government’s export-import data.

The findings were published in an annual trade analysis by Niryat, the national platform that records and analyses exports and imports. The report places Tamil Nadu ahead of Gujarat and Maharashtra in textile exports.

Citing the report, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said the state’s textile exports have grown by 29% over the last four years. He noted that exports rose from $6,193.39 million in 2020-21 to $7,997 million in the subsequent four years.

Stalin also said Tamil Nadu accounts for 21.84% of India’s overall exports, adding that the figures are drawn from the Union government’s data. He called for highlighting achievements and moving forward together.
