RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday said the world needs harmony and not war, arguing that conflicts are driven by selfish thinking and the desire for dominance.
Speaking at an event in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Bhagwat said lasting peace can be achieved by following unity, discipline and dharma. He added that global conflicts often have self-interest at their core.
He said India follows humanitarian values, but noted that forced religious conversions and attitudes of superiority and inferiority continue to persist.
Bhagwat also observed that for nearly 2,000 years the world has tried various ideas to resolve conflicts without major success. He called on people to come together and adopt the belief that everyone is fundamentally one.
Urging a move away from confrontation, he said society should turn toward harmony and unity, adding that discipline requires continuous practice.
