Actor Vijay’s TVK is preparing to contest the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on its own. The party has already collected applications from aspirants and conducted interviews in two phases.
According to the report, Vijay has decided to pick candidates who can fund their campaigns, and those who pledged higher spending have been given preference. Importance has also been given to leaders who joined TVK from other parties.
In Puducherry, nomination filing has begun. The report says Vijay held confidential talks about possibly contesting alongside the N R Congress led by Chief Minister Rangasamy, and TVK’s Puducherry candidates have now been selected.

Amid these developments, TVK general secretary Anand performed special worship by placing the candidate list at the Angalamman temple in Melmalaiyanur, Villupuram district. Similar prayers were also held at the party’s headquarters, the report added.
