New York: The US Army has said it needs more than Rs 1.84 lakh crore in additional funding to continue the conflict with Iran and to ramp up weapons production.
According to the Army, the money is required to replenish and re-manufacture weapons used in the joint US-Israel strikes against Iran that began on February 28.
The Army has requested the White House to seek parliamentary approval to release the funds.
However, some MPs opposed to the war have strongly objected. They cited the Army’s estimate that more than Rs 10,000 crore was spent in the first week, warning that costs could rise further if the conflict continues.
