Delhi Police have arrested a youth from Bihar for allegedly using artificial intelligence (AI) tools to create defamatory images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and posting them on social media.
The accused has been identified as Siddhanath Kumar, a resident of Arwal district in Bihar. Police said the AI-generated content also depicted a BJP woman MLA and a foreign woman political party leader in an objectionable manner.
Following widespread condemnation online, the Special Cell of Delhi Police registered a case and began an investigation. With assistance from the cyber crime unit, officers traced the suspect’s location.
A special team travelled to Bihar, arrested Siddhanath Kumar and brought him to Delhi. He is currently being questioned at the Special Cell office in Lodhi Colony, police said.
