Former Union Minister P Chidambaram on Friday commented on the dynamics within the NDA, using a puppet-show analogy to underline who he believes holds real control.
Speaking after a meeting with party functionaries at an MP office in Karaikudi, he said the AIADMK general secretary’s visit to Delhi itself indicates that the BJP is the “real leader” of the alliance.
Chidambaram alleged that the AIADMK is being projected in front only for appearances, adding that in a puppet show, the puppet is not important—what matters is whose hand holds the thread.
He also said that alliance negotiations with the DMK have been completed without any prolonged delay.
