President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday installed a special Sri Rama Yantra plate in the sanctum of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The yantra is a 150-kg, gold-plated plate inscribed with Vedic mantras.

The Ram temple has been built by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. According to the report, a yantra plate based on Vedic mathematics—meant to signify the presence of Lord Ram—has been placed on the temple’s second floor.

After the installation, the President performed aarti and offered prayers to Bal Ram on the ground floor. Addressing the gathering, she described the construction and inauguration of a grand temple for Lord Ram as a “golden moment” in India’s history.

She also cited Tulsidas’ Ramcharitmanas to say that Ayodhya was dearer to Lord Ram than even heaven. The newly installed Sri Rama Yantra, she said, was presented to the Ayodhya temple by the Kanchi Kamakoti Jagadguru Shankaracharya.

Referring to the continuing traditions that preserve the link between Shankaracharya and Lord Ram, she said the yantra reflects their deep bond. She added that, with Lord Ram’s blessings, India would become an inclusive society and a developed nation by 2047 or earlier.
