Chennai: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has called 115 people selected as the party’s candidates to report to its headquarters today.

TVK is set to contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly election on its own. From among party functionaries who submitted applications seeking tickets, 115 have been shortlisted and are said to form the first batch of candidates.

Party leader Vijay has already held consultations with them in two phases and has instructed them to prepare their nomination papers.

The candidates have been asked to come to the party’s Panaiyur headquarters so that the documents to be attached with the nominations can be checked.

At the headquarters, each candidate is expected to meet a panel of legal experts individually to discuss the nomination process, as the party aims to avoid errors that could lead to rejection of papers in its first election outing.
