Released worldwide on March 19, the sequel follows an Indian Army intelligence operative who infiltrates Pakistan’s crime-terror network. The first part, released last December, was a major hit, and the second instalment has drawn strong audience response, with the narrative said to connect contemporary incidents and themes more directly.

The film also set a record for the highest Hindi opening-day collection, earning ₹102.55 crore on day one. Trade website Sacnilk reported that the film registered ₹65 crore net on March 23, though final figures are yet to be officially confirmed.

Day-wise India net collections reported are: ₹102.55 crore (Mar 19), ₹80.72 crore (Mar 20), ₹113 crore (Mar 21), ₹114.85 crore (Mar 22), and ₹65 crore (Mar 23), totalling ₹519.12 crore. The report adds that if the momentum continues, the film could reach the ₹1,000 crore mark in the next couple of days.

Directed, written and produced by Aditya Dhar, the film features R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, Sara Arjun and Gaurav Khera among others. Following the success, reports say Dhar is considering casting Ranveer Singh again in his planned ‘Ashwatthama’ project, said to be mounted on a ₹1,000 crore budget.
