Two India-registered LPG tankers carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) are sailing towards India after transiting the Strait of Hormuz, with Indian Navy warships providing security.
The vessels—identified as Jag Vasanth and Pine Gas—are currently in the Gulf of Oman and are operating in close proximity, according to Rajesh Kumar Sinha, Special Secretary for Ports.
Sinha said the ships are carrying a combined 92,612 tonnes of LPG. They crossed the Hormuz Strait via Iran’s Larak and Qeshm islands.
The tankers are expected to arrive at Indian ports on March 26 and March 28. The crews include 33 and 27 Indian seafarers, respectively.
The report also noted that the ships Shivalik and Nandadevi had earlier reached India carrying 92,712 tonnes of LPG.
