Chennai saw a fresh spike in gold prices on Tuesday (March 25). The rate for 22-carat jewellery gold increased by Rs 2,800 per sovereign, taking the price to Rs 1,08,800.

In gram terms, gold rose by Rs 350 to Rs 13,600 per gram. The update comes after sharp fluctuations over the past few days, including multiple intraday changes reported on March 24.

Silver prices also edged higher on March 25. Silver was quoted at Rs 260 per gram, while the kilogram rate rose to Rs 2.60 lakh.

Earlier, the market had seen gold trade at different levels on March 24, with prices falling in the morning and later recovering by evening. Silver, too, saw changes during the same period, before moving higher again on March 25.
