Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has launched a sharp attack on the AIADMK, calling it “a lid that fits the BJP jar” and accusing it of staying silent on people’s issues while questioning what the state government is doing.

In a statement, Stalin said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks invoking the Covid period have heightened public anxiety at a time when people are already struggling due to an LPG supply shortage. He claimed many restaurants have been forced to shut and workers are facing the risk of losing jobs.

Stalin alleged that instead of taking strong steps to resolve the situation, the BJP-led Union government is attempting to divert attention by taking up the “script” of constituency delimitation now.

He also questioned whether cylinder distribution and foreign policy fall under the state government’s control, and said the Tamil Nadu government has taken every possible measure within its capacity. According to him, the public’s key question is what the Union government responsible for the situation is doing to address it.
