Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold a video conference with state chief ministers on March 27 evening to discuss the evolving situation in West Asia, according to reports from New Delhi.

The meeting comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with the United States and Israel carrying out attacks on Iran, and Iran responding in return. The developments have led to a war-like atmosphere across West Asia.

The report said the situation has triggered a severe shortage of crude oil and gas globally, including in India. The issue was also discussed in an all-party meeting held a day earlier.

During the interaction with chief ministers, the Prime Minister is expected to review how states are prepared in the current circumstances and coordinate a unified response. The consultation is aimed at ensuring that the country acts together in a “Team India” approach.
