Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran on Wednesday alleged that heinous crimes have become a daily occurrence under the DMK government, citing a recent murder in Chengalpattu district.
The victim, Chandran (28), a farm labourer from Aathur near Singaperumal Koil, was killed on March 15. Police said four of his friends attacked him over prior enmity, and all four have been arrested.
A video purportedly showing the killing later surfaced on social media, triggering shock and widespread reactions. Nagendran said the incident took place in broad daylight in a crowded area.
In a statement, he claimed the public walking past without intervening reflected a breakdown of law and order. He also criticised the DMK’s political messaging and said the government was no longer needed, calling for an end to what he described as a violent atmosphere in the state.
