Campaigning in Kallakurichi, Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) coordinator Seeman made a controversial appeal, asking parents to hand over their children to him from the age of three so they could be taught under his proposed system.

In his speech, he argued that items such as refrigerators, fans, rice, pulses, dhotis and sarees are basic needs that individuals can buy through their own labour, yet governments distribute them as freebies. He said ordinary people cannot build their own schools or hospitals, and accused the state of failing to provide education and healthcare equally and with quality.

Seeman said he would frame laws declaring children not as a family’s wealth but as the nation’s wealth, and that the government should ensure their education for as long as they study. He described knowledge as the greatest national asset and promised to deliver it to the country’s children.

He also promised world-class medical care without fees and without discrimination between rich and poor, claiming it would surpass private-sector standards. Calling the vote a powerful weapon, he urged people to give him a chance to govern, saying past administrations under Karunanidhi and Jayalalithaa and the current government under Stalin had not fulfilled people’s basic needs.
