Complaint filed at DGP office
TVK chief Vijay on Wednesday night visited the Chennai office of the Director General of Police (DGP) and submitted a complaint seeking legal action against political commentator Ponraj for alleged derogatory remarks about women.
Allegation over interview remarks
According to the complaint, Ponraj—who had earlier served as an aide to former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam—made comments in an interview referring to women associated with TVK in an insulting manner.
Call for strict legal action
Vijay’s petition to the Additional DGP (Law and Order) alleged that Ponraj had used obscene language and made demeaning remarks targeting women across Tamil Nadu, and urged authorities to take stringent action under the law.
Party functionary echoes demand
TVK’s Kongu region organisational secretary Sengottaiyan, who accompanied Vijay, said Ponraj had spoken in a highly offensive manner and had also indicated he would not apologise, insisting that strict action be taken.
