Tamil Nadu’s election arena is heating up, with DMK and AIADMK portrayed as the main contenders. A Dinamalar report argues that, as of now, AIADMK appears to be moving ahead in the race.

The report says DMK began alliance talks early but is carrying a larger coalition load, naming Congress, MDMK, VCK and the Left parties. It claims that while broad seat-count understandings were reached, seat allocation is still being negotiated.

On the AIADMK side, the report points to a comparatively “manageable” alliance mix, mentioning BJP, AMMK and PMK, and says talks were wrapped up faster with agreements in place. It also notes that AIADMK, as the alliance leader, has begun announcing its candidate list, with only limited friction reported.

In campaigning, the report states that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has not yet formally launched his campaign and that dates have been shifting, with Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin also yet to begin. In contrast, it says AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami has started campaigning from Chennai’s Mylapore and continues to campaign, often alongside alliance partners.

Overall, the report concludes that AIADMK is running at a faster pace at this stage, while DMK is still working through alliance and campaign preparations.
