Charge sheet released in Kolkata

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday released a “charge sheet” against the Trinamool Congress government in Kolkata, ahead of the West Bengal Assembly election. He alleged that the state is suffering from “anarchy” under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s administration.

Allegations on security and law-and-order

Shah claimed that infiltration has become a route that poses a threat to national security. He also alleged that people have been affected for the past 15 years by corruption and the influence of “rowdies”, and said the nature of the current regime has now become evident.

BJP’s pitch for a change in government

Stating that the election is significant in multiple ways, Shah said the BJP is committed to raising public grievances against the Trinamool government. He asserted that the BJP would come to power with a strong majority and provide “good governance”.

Development and economy

Shah said West Bengal should align itself with the rapid pace of development seen across the country. He further alleged that the state has been economically affected under the Trinamool Congress rule, and maintained that the charge sheet reflects the concerns of the people of West Bengal.
