Two more India-bound LPG vessels have crossed the Strait of Hormuz after receiving clearance from Iran, according to reports citing naval sources.

The movement comes as the continuing war between Iran and Israel has created disruptions in shipping crude oil from Iran. In response, the Union government is making alternative arrangements to meet India’s fuel needs, including sourcing additional crude from other possible countries.

Officials said Indian Navy ships have been kept ready to provide security cover for the vessels as they proceed towards India. More ships are expected to arrive soon.

Earlier, the LPG vessels Jag Vasanth, Nanda Devi and Shivalik had already reached India. The latest ships identified as BW ELM and BW TYR are now en route, while several other vessels are reportedly awaiting permission amid restrictions on maritime movement.
