Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Saturday released its list of candidates for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly election, with party chief Vijay announcing that he will contest from Chennai’s Perambur and Trichy East.

TVK, a newly formed party, is set to face its first Assembly election and has said it will contest all 234 constituencies on its own, without entering into an alliance with any other party.

The candidate list was released at a private hotel in Nungambakkam, Chennai, after the Election Commission granted permission for the event. A similar programme planned for March 27 at the same venue had been cancelled at the last minute as the party had not obtained formal clearance.

Along with Vijay’s nominations, the list includes names for several constituencies such as T. Nagar (Anand), Villivakkam (Aadhav Arjuna), Kolathur (V.S. Babu), Royapuram (Thamu), Sholinganallur (ECR Saravanan), RK Nagar (Mariyavilson), and others as part of the party’s initial announcement.
