TVK president Vijay has announced that he will contest the upcoming election from two constituencies—Chennai Perambur and Trichy East.

Dinamalar said the decision had been reported earlier on March 12 through its newspaper and website, and that the latest announcement aligns with that report.

According to the earlier report cited by the publication, Vijay—projected as TVK’s chief ministerial candidate—opted to contest from two seats to avoid the risk of losing if he stood in only one constituency.

The report also noted voter composition details: Perambur is said to have about 14% Christian voters, while Trichy East is described as having around 50,000 Vellalar votes, along with a significant presence of Dalit Christian voters—factors the party’s circles reportedly viewed as improving his chances.
