Pakistan has convened a two-day summit in Islamabad to discuss the tensions in West Asia and explore ways to reduce ongoing conflicts and promote peace.

Foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Turkey have arrived in Pakistan to take part in the discussions. The meeting began in the capital on Sunday.

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan reached Pakistan a day earlier, while Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan arrived on Sunday.

As part of the summit, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held separate bilateral talks with the Egyptian and Turkish ministers. A separate meeting with the Saudi minister is also expected.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said the visiting ministers are also expected to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for discussions during their stay.
