Chennai: The Tamil Nadu BJP leadership has instructed office-bearers of its seven wings and 25 professional cells to publicise Central government schemes implemented in the state through social media.
According to party sources, the Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided projects worth about Rs 11 lakh crore to Tamil Nadu over the past 11 years. They cited initiatives such as Mudra loans, drinking water connections for homes and the Prime Minister’s health insurance scheme among the programmes rolled out.
The party alleged that Chief Minister M K Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and DMK leaders are spreading false claims that the BJP-led Centre has done nothing for Tamil Nadu.
With most people now consuming content on smartphones, the BJP has asked its functionaries to post more frequently about what the Centre has delivered for the state in the last 11 years, to counter what it termed misinformation.
Party sources said the BJP leadership will share details of Central schemes with its office-bearers to support social media outreach.
