Chennai: Results of a Dinamalar–Chanakya opinion poll assessing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister M K Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, along with Tamil Nadu’s law-and-order situation, were released on Friday.

The survey was conducted in March across 70 constituencies, covering 19,305 respondents. Of those polled, 20% were under 25, 55% were between 25 and 50, and 25% were above 50.

On voting preference in the Lok Sabha election, respondents said they voted for the DMK alliance (42%), the AIADMK alliance (31%), the BJP-led alliance (11%) and NTK (7%).

On the performance of the Union government, 32% rated it “super”, 48% said “okay”, and 20% said “bad”. Modi’s performance was rated “super” by 35%, “bad” by 20%, and “no opinion/okay” by 45%. On handling international issues including the Iran war, 36% said “super”, 17% “bad”, and 47% said they did not know.

For the DMK government, 20% rated it “super”, 39% “okay” and 41% “bad”. Stalin’s performance was rated “super” by 23%, “okay” by 40% and “bad” by 37%, while Udhayanidhi’s performance was rated “super” by 16%, “okay” by 39% and “bad” by 45%. On law and order in Tamil Nadu, 59% rated it “bad”, 32% “okay” and 9% “super”. The poll said more findings, including questions on likely winners and other political assessments, would be released on April 5.
