Chennai: The Election Commission has introduced an online facility for citizens to access details of candidates contesting in their constituencies.
In a statement, the Commission said ECINET functions as one of the world’s largest election service platforms, bringing together more than 40 official mobile apps and websites under a single umbrella.
Through ECINET, users can access services such as voter registration, electoral roll search, tracking applications, contacting election officials and booking appointments with booth-level officers.
The platform also provides constituency-wise candidate information, including criminal cases, assets and liabilities, educational qualifications and links to official social media accounts.
Voters can use the “Know your candidate” section to view these details and download the complete affidavits submitted by candidates, the statement added.
