TVK (actor Vijay’s party) election campaign management general secretary Aadava Arjuna has triggered a political buzz in Chennai after a slip of the tongue during a campaign stop.

Campaigning in the Villivakkam constituency, where he is contesting as the TVK candidate, Aadava said public mood in North Chennai had turned against the DMK. However, he then went on to state that the DMK would secure a “big victory” in 13 of Chennai’s 16 constituencies.

Those around him were reportedly taken aback, as he appeared to have said “DMK” instead of “TVK.” Within seconds, Aadava regained composure and began criticising the DMK.

He did not, however, withdraw or correct the remark. On social media, users have mocked the episode, noting that the DMK candidate opposing him is his friend Karthik Mohan, joking that Aadava had “handed him the win.”
