Villupuram campaign speech

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) on Saturday launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister M K Stalin during an election campaign meeting in Villupuram, saying the CM “needs restraint” in his remarks.

Referring to a speech by Stalin at a meeting in Nagercoil, EPS alleged that the Chief Minister made comments about him in a derogatory manner. EPS questioned whether anyone could “say anything” just because they have the ability to speak, and asserted that his party too could respond.

EPS said that as Chief Minister and as a party leader, Stalin must speak with responsibility. He warned that if the CM spoke without accountability, even party workers would not accept it.

In his address, EPS also criticised Stalin for, as he claimed, lacking the courage to question his party’s general secretary Raja. He further made remarks involving former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, continuing his criticism of the DMK leadership.
