Raja, who recently suffered a stroke, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Chennai following an invitation from the Prime Minister, according to BJP functionaries.

Raja had been hospitalised after he suffered a stroke while attending an event in Chennai on January 30. After about a month of treatment, he returned home and has since stayed away from political activities to rest.

During the election campaign, Modi visited Puducherry and later stayed at a star hotel in Guindy, Chennai, the report said. It was there that Raja met the Prime Minister and spoke with him.

Modi enquired about Raja’s health and treatment, and also asked about the political situation in Tamil Nadu and election-related work. BJP functionaries said Modi told Raja that “good news” would come after the Assembly election, leaving Raja pleased.
