A Dinamalar–Chanakya opinion poll has projected a narrow lead for the AIADMK over the DMK if an election were held today. According to the survey, 40% of respondents said the AIADMK would win, while 37% backed the DMK.

The poll was conducted in March across 70 constituencies, covering 19,305 respondents. The second part of the findings was released on Saturday.

On the DMK government’s delivery of promises, 11% said it had fulfilled them fully, 67% felt it had delivered “to some extent”, and 22% said it had done nothing. When asked to rate the DMK government out of 10, 15% gave a perfect score, 59% gave a mid-level score, and 26% gave zero.

Perceptions of corruption under the DMK were largely negative, with 54% calling it “very high”, 37% saying it was “to some extent”, and 9% saying there was no corruption. On actions by agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax Department and CBI against DMK leaders, 44% said the moves were justified, 22% termed them political vendetta, and 34% had no opinion.

Among opposition parties, 54% rated the AIADMK as the best-performing opposition, compared to 18% for TVK and 17% for Naam Tamilar Katchi. For opposition leader performance, 64% chose EPS, while Seeman and Vijay received 18% each. On Vijay’s politics, 46% said it was “okay”, 35% “bad” and 19% “super”; and on the main election issue, 41% cited corruption, 16% cited the Centre’s “high-handedness”, and 43% pointed to other issues.
