Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday said DMK’s “family politics” would be brought to an end in Tamil Nadu.

Speaking to reporters after hoisting the BJP flag at Kamalalayam in Chennai to mark the party’s foundation day, Goyal alleged that DMK was synonymous with dynastic politics and that party workers did not get opportunities.

He further claimed that the DMK government functioned as a “family rule” and was marked by corruption.

Goyal said the National Democratic Alliance, led by AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS), would register a major victory in the state. Calling it a time for change and good governance, he said he believed voters in Mylapore would support Tamilisai, adding that people there wanted the kind of governance associated with Jayalalithaa.
