TIRUVANNAMALAI: DMDK general secretary Premalatha on Saturday warned AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) and PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss against making what she called disrespectful remarks, saying it could invite strong criticism and “severe consequences.”
Speaking to reporters after offering prayers at the Arunachaleswarar temple, Premalatha displayed a document she said was an agreement from 2024, signed when DMDK was part of the AIADMK alliance, promising the party a Rajya Sabha seat.
She said EPS, as the Leader of the Opposition and a former Chief Minister, should maintain dignity in public speech. Referring to his comments about DMDK’s vote share and its past condition, she alleged he was now denying earlier assurances and resorting to derogatory language.
Premalatha also questioned why EPS was upset if DMDK chose to align with the DMK. She said political discourse should remain respectful, adding that responses would come on May 4, the day election results are to be announced.
She further claimed she had heard that Anbumani was spreading misinformation and dragging caste and family into political campaigning. She urged both leaders to stop such remarks, warning that otherwise they would face sharp criticism and serious repercussions.
