AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Sunday alleged that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is unable to take action against DMK MP Raja and is “shaken” over the possibility of more audio clips emerging.
Speaking at a campaign meeting in Perambalur, Palaniswami said Stalin has been making remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while recalling that Stalin’s father, late DMK leader M. Karunanidhi, had spoken positively about Modi. He argued that Stalin, who often says he follows his father’s path, should be consistent with those views.
Palaniswami also questioned the DMK’s alliance with the Congress, citing Karunanidhi’s past criticism of the partnership and Stalin’s own 2014 statement that the party would not align with Congress again. He further claimed that Stalin’s political rise was tied to his family background.
Referring to an audio clip attributed to Raja, Palaniswami said the MP had warned that more recordings exist if he is reprimanded. He alleged that this has left Stalin unable to act, and said it is unclear when the “next audio” will be released.
