PMK candidate Sowmiya Anbumani, contesting from Dharmapuri in the NDA alliance for the Tamil Nadu Assembly election, has declared total assets worth Rs 68.46 crore in her election affidavit.
According to the filing, the family holds cash of Rs 2.25 lakh in her name, Rs 60,000 in her husband Anbumani’s name, and Rs 20,000 in their daughter Sanjuthra’s name. She also listed vehicles including a Honda Jazz worth Rs 9.47 lakh and a Mercedes car valued at Rs 53.59 lakh.
The affidavit mentions jewellery and valuables including 2,927 grams of gold, diamonds worth Rs 1.64 crore and 26.44 kg of silver in her name. Her husband declared 960 grams of gold, while their daughter declared 551 grams of gold, diamonds worth Rs 4.34 lakh and 2.50 kg of silver. Movable assets were put at Rs 19.61 crore.
Immovable assets, including agricultural land and a commercial building, were declared at Rs 48.85 crore, with her husband’s immovable assets listed at Rs 6.85 lakh. She also reported loans of Rs 8.99 crore and one pending criminal case.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha election, when she contested from Dharmapuri, her total assets were declared at Rs 61.42 crore, indicating an increase of Rs 7.04 crore over two years.
