NTK chief coordinator Seeman on Tuesday appealed to voters to reflect on their children and grandchildren before casting their ballots, saying the choice should be based on who can deliver quality education, good healthcare and suitable jobs.
He made the remarks while campaigning in Perambur in support of the Naam Tamilar Katchi candidate, where TVK leader Vijay is also contesting. Seeman compared infrastructure and public services in other countries with India, and questioned why similar standards are not achieved despite leaders travelling abroad to attract investment.
Raising concerns over unemployment, he asked why large numbers of Indian youth travel to Arab countries for work even as Tamil Nadu hosts significant migrant labour. He alleged that voters are being pushed away from work through cash-for-votes and free handouts.
Seeman also criticised what he called a social mindset that labels many forms of labour—construction work, small businesses, livestock rearing and farming—as inferior. He argued that corruption and bribery in governance, along with the privatisation of essential services such as education, healthcare, drinking water and roads, have deepened poverty and joblessness.
Calling for a change in voting behaviour, he urged people to reject “empty announcements” and repeated selection of “deceptive rulers”. He asked voters to support the “farmer symbol”, saying farmers provide the food people eat, and reiterated that voters should decide based on education, healthcare, employment and women’s safety.
