New Delhi: BJP national president Nitin Nabin has said the election outcomes in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal would “surprise” people, and asserted that the NDA would form the government in Tamil Nadu.

In an interview to ANI, he said former state BJP chief K Annamalai had contested the Lok Sabha election and also took part in campaigning recently. He claimed there was no dissatisfaction within the party and that it was contesting the election as a united force.

Nabin said the AIADMK is the biggest party in the NDA alliance in Tamil Nadu and that the BJP is contesting under the NDA banner while bringing all alliance partners together with respect. He added that the BJP is contesting 27 seats in the state.

He alleged that people would respond to what he described as the DMK’s corruption and “appeasement politics,” and said there were clear signs of change in Tamil Nadu.

Speaking more broadly, he said the BJP does not view development based on which party is in power, and claimed welfare schemes under Prime Minister Narendra Modi are implemented without discrimination. He also attacked the Congress and Left in Kerala, alleging “match-fixing,” and questioned whether Rahul Gandhi had ever spoken about the Sabarimala issue.
