Allegations raised during campaign in Erode

Speaking during election campaigning in Erode, TAVEK state committee chief coordinator Sengottaiyan made sharp allegations against AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS).

Sengottaiyan claimed that EPS planned to become chief minister with the support of actor-politician Vijay and “earn Rs 5,000 crore”. He said he had thwarted that plan.

He further alleged that EPS was now “murderously” angry with him because of this, and described EPS as someone who has faced defeat “10 times”.

Referring to EPS calling him a traitor, Sengottaiyan said he was branded so after giving up the chief minister’s post and the party general secretary position. He also alleged that after becoming general secretary, EPS removed party workers who had worked for the party.

Sengottaiyan said he did not know what people were thinking, but claimed voters wanted to elect him by voting for the “whistle” symbol.
