Dindigul: VCK leader targets NDA campaign pitch
Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) president Thol Thirumavalavan on Tuesday said the NDA’s “conspiracy attempt” would not succeed in Tamil Nadu, speaking to reporters in Dindigul.
Referring to campaigning in Madurai by the Maharashtra Chief Minister, Thirumavalavan criticised the message that voters should back the BJP-led alliance if they want a Metro rail project. He said people must understand what the BJP represents, alleging that even during elections the party adopts an approach of coercion, intimidation and “blackmail”.
He further alleged that the NDA is trying to replicate in Tamil Nadu the kind of politics seen in North India, where caste and religion are used to divide people for political gain. He said the election outcome would teach the alliance a “proper lesson”.
Thirumavalavan also described the AIADMK-BJP-AMMK-PMK combine as an “incompatible alliance”, claiming parties with conflicting ideologies have come together only for electoral advantage. He alleged that this frustration is being reflected in personal attacks on the DMK-led alliance.
