KARAIKUDI: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay is set to campaign on Thursday in the Karaikudi constituency, where Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief coordinator Seeman is contesting.
Vijay will address a public meeting near the new bus stand in Karaikudi to canvass for TVK candidates contesting in constituencies across Sivaganga district, including Karaikudi.
According to the plan, Vijay will travel from Chennai to Madurai by a special flight and then proceed to Karaikudi by road.
The district election officer has granted permission for the campaign between 12.00 pm and 2.00 pm. Officials have also imposed 37 conditions, including deploying 20 doctors and 200 volunteers equipped with walkie-talkies, prohibiting distribution of free items, and ensuring the event does not disrupt traffic.
Ahead of the campaign, tin sheets were placed around trees to prevent supporters from climbing them, and barricades were set up around a transformer at the venue.
