Election flying squad officials conducted a surprise inspection of TVK leader Vijay’s campaign vehicle on Thursday as he travelled from Madurai to Karaikudi for electioneering.
According to the report, Vijay arrived from Chennai at Madurai airport and then proceeded by road in a campaign vehicle towards Karaikudi to canvass for TVK candidates contesting in Sivaganga district.
The vehicle was intercepted near Tiruppathur in Sivaganga district, where officials carried out checks for cash, gift items and other materials.
As nothing was seized during the inspection, officials permitted the vehicle to continue. The stop briefly created a tense and busy situation in the area.
