Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai on Friday strongly condemned the alleged leak of the film Janayagan on social media, saying the party had no connection to the incident and calling for strict action against those responsible.
Speaking to reporters in Coimbatore, Annamalai said the leak was a serious wrongdoing. He said it must be verified whether only a few minutes were leaked or if the full film had surfaced, and added that post-production studios should ensure safeguards to prevent such incidents.
He also urged the public not to watch or share leaked videos, saying the film represents the hard work and investment of many people. Even if such content is received, he asked people to delete or skip it.
Annamalai said he would watch Janayagan in theatres after the elections, and insisted cinema should not be mixed with politics. He criticised attempts to drag the BJP and Union Minister L Murugan into the controversy, and said those at fault should be reported to the police and brought to justice.
