Chennai: Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) president Kamal Haasan is set to campaign in support of the DMK and its alliance partners ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections scheduled for April 23.
Though MNM is part of the DMK alliance, the party is not contesting this election and has extended support to the DMK. Until now, Haasan had not taken part in campaign activities.
According to a schedule released, Haasan will start campaigning from April 17 and will campaign in 26 constituencies up to April 20.
The itinerary lists April 17 for Thuraimugam, Perambur, Kolathur and Villivakkam; April 18 for T. Nagar, Mylapore, Chepauk and Velachery; April 19 for Avinashi and Coimbatore South; and April 20 for Trichy East, Srirangam and Lalgudi.
Haasan is also expected to campaign for DMK candidates in Perambur and Trichy East, constituencies where TVK leader Vijay is contesting.
