Chennai: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader and actor Vijay has appealed to party members and volunteers to step up campaign work as election day approaches, describing the contest as one meant for “a major change” and for an entire generation.

In a statement addressed to supporters, Vijay said the party was moving on the right path and that every volunteer’s contribution was essential to the campaign’s momentum.

He urged booth in-charges, party members and well-wishers to work on the ground over the next 10 days, meeting people in their neighbourhoods twice a day—morning and evening—through door-to-door visits.

Vijay asked cadres to request voters to support TVK candidates by voting for the party’s whistle symbol, and called on state and district-level office-bearers to extend full cooperation to candidates.

Emphasising inclusive outreach, he said volunteers should meet residents with a spirit of camaraderie and explain that the election was not only for the party but also for strengthening democracy and building what he termed true people’s governance.
