Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Tamil Nadu on April 18 to take part in an election campaign public meeting in Coimbatore.

In remarks shared in Tamil, Modi said he felt “very proud” of BJP workers in the state for highlighting what he described as the DMK’s poor governance and for explaining the National Democratic Alliance’s long-term vision for Tamil Nadu’s development.

He has earlier asked Tamil Nadu BJP functionaries to work with booth-level in-charges, meet people door-to-door, and explain the Union government’s schemes, according to the report.

To energise party workers involved in the campaign, Modi will interact online on April 13 as part of the “My Booth, Strong Booth” programme, where he is expected to speak with grassroots volunteers.

Modi is scheduled to address the Coimbatore public meeting on April 18.
