Door-to-door distribution of booth slips—voter information sheets—began across Tamil Nadu on Saturday, as the state heads to a single-phase Assembly election on April 23.

With polling day nearing, political parties, leaders, cadres and candidates have intensified campaigning. Alongside this, the Election Commission has stepped up voter awareness activities at the booth level.

The Commission has also issued photo voter ID cards to newly enrolled voters. The booth slip being delivered contains key details such as the serial number and part number, printed in larger font for easier identification.

A QR code has also been included on the slip. Officials said efforts are being intensified to ensure distribution reaches all eligible voters by April 17.

The booth slip cannot be used to cast a vote. Voters must carry their voter ID card, or use Aadhaar or any of the other 12 approved documents as an alternative.
