VCK president Thol. Thirumavalavan on Saturday said the AIADMK’s future could become uncertain after the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. He made the remarks while addressing a gathering in Kallakurichi.

In his speech, Thirumavalavan accused the BJP of repeatedly betraying its allies, claiming it has a political habit of sidelining partners after using them. He said the AIADMK currently being in the second position in the state is “irritating” the BJP.

He alleged that the BJP’s objective is to defeat the AIADMK and move into the second spot, and pointed to the seat-sharing arrangement in which the BJP is contesting 27 seats and the TMC five seats. According to him, this is why the BJP is being projected prominently, and he warned that the AIADMK could face consequences after the polls.

Later, while campaigning for VCK candidate Sindhanai Selvan in the Cheyyur constituency, Thirumavalavan reiterated that the VCK is aligned with the DMK on ideological grounds. He said the party would not ally with the BJP or the PMK, and argued that the alliance is driven by shared positions on social justice and opposition to right-wing, communal, caste-based and hate politics.
