BJP minority wing national secretary Velur Ibrahim campaigned in support of the party’s Tiruchendur constituency candidate Radhakrishnan, according to reports.
During an open-vehicle roadshow in the Aathur area, a BJP worker presented Ibrahim with a vel (spear). Ibrahim accepted it and stood in the vehicle holding the spear.
He then sang in full the first song of Arunagirinathar’s Thiruppugazh, beginning with “Muththaiththaru Paththi Thirunagai,” drawing attention from those present.
Later, Ibrahim addressed voters and alleged that the DMK candidate had not properly stated educational qualifications in the election affidavit. He urged people to vote for the BJP.
