Beirut: Lebanon has accused the Israeli military of flattening three villages near the border by using explosives to demolish homes.
Lebanese authorities say Israel claims the attacks are aimed at destroying Hezbollah hideouts and military infrastructure. Hezbollah is described as an Iran-backed group.
Videos circulating on social media show houses in the villages of Taybeh, Naqoura and Deir Siryan being blown up in what appears to be coordinated demolitions.
Lebanon also alleges Israel is planning to seize areas of southern Lebanon up to the Litani River to establish a security zone. The situation has left about one million displaced people unable to return home.
In the conflict so far, more than 2,000 people have been killed in Lebanon, according to the report.
