Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday interacted with BJP booth committee functionaries from Tamil Nadu, focusing on election preparedness and the responsibilities of booth-level workers.
During the discussion, Modi said people see the Teja alliance as an alliance for change. He also alleged that when the DMK was part of the Union government earlier, Tamil Nadu did not receive development schemes.
Modi claimed that after the BJP formed the government at the Centre, works such as railway and road development have been implemented faster in the state. He further said 11 medical colleges were established in Tamil Nadu after the BJP came to power.
Referring to the Rameswaram Pamban bridge, Modi said people could see how it was earlier and how it has changed under the BJP’s tenure. In another interaction, he said there are concerns in Tamil Nadu about women’s safety and drug use, and asked BJP workers to hold small meetings and meet first-time voters.
